Welcome to the

United Teachers of Flint Website!

    The United Teachers of Flint, Inc. was created in October 1969 when the Flint Education Association and the Flint Federation decided to become the first EA and Federation units in the United States to merge as a single, united organization.

   The shield (which has been the logo of the UTF since the merger) reflects not only our united status as a local union, but our united status as affiliates of both the National/Michigan Education Associations and the American/Michigan Federation of Teachers.

   Today our membership  represents approximately 1150 K-12 teachers, Adult Education teachers, Speech Therapists, Social Workers, Librarians, Physical Therapists and other E.A. support personnel, and Guest Teachers.

   The UTF Representative Assembly meets monthly at the MEA complex on Exchange Drive in Flint.  This is the policy making body of the organization.
