MESSA Field Representatives Meet Your Service Needs

MESSA has 14 field based representatives that work throughout the state. MESSA Field Representatives have assigned territories and can be easily reached through their field staff assistants based in MESSA’s East Lansing headquarters at 800.292.4910.

MESSA Field Representatives work diligently to provide materials, training and group and individual service to their clients. Some of the things that MESSA Field Representatives do or can be called on to provide are:

1. Assist in benefit bargaining planning and contract implementation

•   Contract maintenance assistance

•   Contract language review

•   New contract benefit explanation service

•   MESSA quote preparation

•   Product review services

2.  Assist local associations

•   Member enrollment assistance

•   Participate in leader and member meetings

•   Product review services

•   Assist with benefit or health promotion fairs

•   Provide access to resources from other MESSA departments such as marketing, health promotion, communications and legal

3  Assist individual members

•   Provide claims assistance

•   Provide assistance and resources to members with benefit issues

•   Provide LTD materials and help individuals with LTD

•   Provide information as requested by individuals on MESSA programs and services

4. Provide training or information at the state, region, coordinating council or local level (at the local level it would include both the association and the employer)

•   Participate as trainers at all major MEA conferences and workshops

•   On-site training for leaders, bargainers, staff and employers

•   Provide information and assistance to school benefit office contacts
