Configuring and Using the WS-FTP Pro utility to Publish pages

Configuring WS-FTP Pro
  1. Open WS-FTP Pro and click the New button to create a new profile.


  2. On the General tab, fill in the fields as follows:

  3. Profile name: IamMEA
    Host Name/Address: www.iammea.org
    Host Type: Automatic Detect
    User Id: Your www.iammea.org UserId (ex: tmoreau)
    Password: Your www.iammea.org Password
    Account: Leave Blank
    Comment: If you wish, enter a comment to remind you of what this profile is for
    Anonymous: Leave unchecked
    Save Pwd: Check if you do not want to enter your password each time



  4. On the Startup tab, fill in the fields as follows:

  5. Initial Remote Host Directory: Your www.iammea.org UserId (ex: tmoreau)
    Initial Local Directory: The directory on your computer that contains your web files (ex: c:\MyNewWeb)
    Initialize Command: Leave Blank
    Local File Mask: Leave Blank
    Remote File Mask: Leave Blank
    Time Offset: Leave Blank



  6. On the Advanced tab, fill in the fields as follows:

  7. Connection Retry: 0
    Network Timeout: 65
    Remote Port: 21
    Passive Transfers: Checked



  8. On the Firewall tab, fill in the fields as follows:

  9. Use Firewall: Leave Blank
    Save Password: Leave Blank




    Using WS-FTP Pro
    1. Open WS-FTP Pro and choose the profile for IamMEA. Click OK




    2. If you do not save your password in the profile (by checking the Save Pwd box), you will be prompted. Enter your www.IamMEA.org password and press Enter.



    3. You may now move your files:
      1. In the left panel, move the the directory on your computer that contains your web files.
      2. Highlight the file you would like to move.
      3. Click the --> button to move it to the server.



    4. When you have moved all of your files, click the Exit button to close the program.


    Your web pages are now on the IamMEA server!
