Percentage Dues Information

The wage scale used is the October 2006 from the contract which can be found at HROs website. The $.22 cent adjustment for health benefits and development pay are removed when calculating dues.

The MEA Representative Assembly voted to continue computing union dues using a percentage of the annual bargained wage. The percentage chosen is 1.5%, with a cap at $620. Here is how to compute what your payroll deduction will be:

Hourly Rate x Regular Hours per Week x Weeks Worked x .015 = MEA Annual Dues
(MEA Annual Dues cap at $620)

(MEA + NEA + Local) / 21 paychecks = Dues per check

EXAMPLE: C3 - Step 4 - Full Time

16.63 x 40 x 52 x .015 = $518.86

(518.86 + 87.00 + 31.50) / 21 = $30.35
